An undercurrent of joy that cannot be removed

If God is for us, who can be against us?
Romans 8:31

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
Romans 8:35

Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Roman 8:37-39

And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
Roman 5:3-5

God's love is a mystery, logic doesn't explain it. But God's love transcends all sadness, I might not be kicking and jumping with joy but there is a peace in my heart and I can peacefully accept whatever that is to come.
